Make the most of your one day in Wellington
Cruise days are exciting, but they can also be a bit of a juggle. You’ve only got a few hours, everyone has different ideas, and Wellington has far more to offer than most people expect.
That’s where we come in.
We’ll help you see more, do more and enjoy more — without wasting your precious port time figuring out where to go, how to get there, or whether you’ll be back in time.
No big bus energy
Travel only with your own friends and family. No waiting for 50 people to get on and off a coach. No fixed script. No awkward flag-following required.
Your time, your tour
Want views, beaches, history, food, gardens, shopping, Wētā, coffee, wildlife or a bit of everything? Great. We’ll shape the day around you.
We watch the clock
You enjoy Wellington. We keep an eye on ship timing, traffic, weather and the practical bits, so you don’t have to.

A shore excursion that feels like being shown around by a local friend
Travelling is better when it feels personal.
Before your tour, we’ll communicate clearly by email, phone or WhatsApp so we know a little about you before you arrive. Then, on the day, we’ll meet you where we say we will, travel at your pace, avoid queues where we can, and share the Wellington that locals love.
You enjoy the day. We’ll look after the details.
Guests often tell us the best part of touring with uTours is the feeling of being looked after by someone who actually cares.
We love helping people get a real taste of Wellington — not just ticking off sights, but connecting with the place, the stories, the food, the views and the people.
Meet your Wellington shore excursion guides
Kia ora, we’re Suzee & Jo — Wellington locals, storytellers, snack enablers, view-finders and very good people to know when you’ve only got one day in Welly.
We personally host our tours, which means availability is limited, especially on busy cruise ship days. We recommend booking early if Wellington is on your cruise itinerary.
Suzee
Suzee is an artist, Wellingtonian and keen photographer who loves people, stories and finding the places that will mean the most to you. She knows the best photo spots and will happily help you capture the day.
Jo
